Many dogs never get a fair chance in life. Due to irresponsible breeding practices, countless puppies are abandoned, left to fend for themselves, and many do not make it.
Rescuers Were Amazed To Find This Newborn Albino Puppy And Rushed Him To The Clinic
One such heartbreaking case emerged from California, where an entire litter of puppies was discarded by a backyard breeder.
A woman received an urgent call about a tiny puppy no older than three days. She immediately stopped what she was doing, knowing the situation was critical.
The entire litter was barely clinging to life and in desperate need of help.
Fighting To Survive Since Day One
Clanay Reza, a compassionate animal rescuer from California, was contacted by a breeder’s neighbor who begged her to step in.
When Clanay arrived, she found a heartbreaking scene. The puppies were huddled under their deceased mother, who had tragically bled to death. Among them was Lucky, the tiniest of all, no bigger than a baby hamster.
Despite being given no chance to survive, Clanay refused to give up. She dedicated herself to feeding him formula every 20 minutes and barely slept during those crucial first days.
"I never knew if tomorrow was promised for him. Lucky's first 8 weeks of life I hardly ever slept. I would stay up watching him making sure he was still alive and breathing," Clanay shared on Instagram.
Unfortunately, Lucky’s siblings didn’t survive, leaving him as the only one with a chance at life. Against all odds, he kept fighting.
Lots Of Sleepless Nights
After weeks of tireless care, Lucky’s condition began to stabilize. However, he still faced numerous health challenges. As his eyes opened, he was diagnosed with a yeast infection and a corneal ulcer, which ultimately led to the removal of one of his eyes.
"We found out he was blind from one eye and actually had a puncture in his eye and a corneal ulcer. As he got older the ulcer and puncture grew and started causing him pain so at 4 months old we removed his eye," said Clanay.
At just ten weeks old, Lucky was diagnosed with albinism, a condition caused by a recessive gene linked to inbreeding. This added another layer of complexity to his already difficult journey.
Lucky’s first year of life was a true uphill battle. He had lost his siblings and mother and faced countless health hurdles. Yet, his determination to live never wavered.
"He's had a rollercoaster of a life his first year but I am thankful for all the bumps in the road we had with him. They just made my love for him grow stronger," Clanay wrote in a heartfelt post.
