They crave nothing more than to feel boundlessly adored by their human companions.

As the ones they look up to as parents, we take joy in witnessing the love in their eyes and the enthusiastic tail wagging that greets us each time we enter the door.

It's clear to our dogs that they hold a special place in our hearts and that our affection for them is immense.

Sadly, there are far too many people who abandon their dogs, depriving them of the right to feel valued and loved.

These dogs feel a deep sense of betrayal when those they considered family make them feel unworthy of affection.

Our story today centers on a blind dog named Teasel, who experienced profound disappointment from the family she trusted without reservations.

Her callous owners abandoned her by the roadside, showing no concern for her fate.

Left by the road, Teasel curled up, overwhelmed with confusion and fear.

Despite everything, her heart clung to the hope that she might once again hear her owners call her name.

Heroes Come To Save Teasel

When Laura Myatt, a rescuer from Sadie Dog Rescue, was informed through a video and pictures about a blind dog left by the road, she immediately set out to find her.

Upon arriving, Myatt discovered the dog, who would soon be known as Teasel, hiding under a bush close to the road.

The sight of Teasel, so terrified and abandoned, filled Myatt's heart with sadness.

Teasel kept her head down, her expression one of sorrow and confusion.

Yet, in the days that followed, a compassionate man provided her with food.

He reported that the loyal dog stayed in the same spot, even through the rain, holding onto the hope that her owners would return for her.

As Myatt approached and gently stroked Teasel’s head, the dog shied away.

This made Myatt heartbroken, leading her to question if Teasel had ever truly been loved by her previous owners.

Carefully, Myatt leashed Teasel and transported her to the Sadie Dog Rescue facility.

Helping Teasel Open Her Heart To Love

The rescue team welcomed Teasel warmly, striving to comfort her and offer the love she desperately needed.

They cleaned her up, removing ticks and setting up a cozy spot for her to rest.

Although Teasel was gentle with her rescuers, she remained visibly scared and hesitant to seek out human touch.

Seeing the dejected look in Teasel's eyes, Myatt felt deeply saddened but remained hopeful that, in time, Teasel would begin to trust them.

"I'm heartbroken for her, I just pray we can enable her to enjoy the rest of her life 🙏🏼 She's safe and loved but she deserves the world," Myatt expressed in a post on Facebook.

Her friends at the rescue continued to pamper her, showering her with love and hoping to show her the beauty of life.

Two weeks later, Teasel began to wag her tail at the sound of Myatt's voice.

Her rescuers brought her to a veterinarian for a check-up. 

Sadly, during this visit, it was suspected that Teasel might have a metastatic mammary tumor, with further tests required to confirm.

About a month after her rescue, Teasel started to show her charming personality, warming up to Myatt and other friends, basking in their affection.

Myatt updated on Facebook that they had taken Teasel to an eye specialist, who unfortunately confirmed that her vision could not be restored. 

Furthermore, it was decided that her left eye needed to be removed due to glaucoma.

Finding A Home Filled With Love

Fortuitously, it didn't take long for Teasel to find a forever home.

A wonderful woman instantly fell in love with Teasel and chose to adopt her, committing to care for her as she recovered from her surgery.

Before departing for her new home, Teasel said farewell to the human friends who supported her through her darkest times.

The rescuers rejoiced, thrilled that Teasel found her happy ending, where she would finally receive all the love she deserved from the start.

I am deeply grateful to the kind-hearted individual who fed Teasel after she was abandoned, and to the amazing rescuers who gave her another chance at life.
