A heartbreaking story comes from Southern California, where a tiny gray-and-white dog was spotted lying in a school parking lot next to the school's shrubs.
Dog Abandoned In Parking Lot Refuses To Leave, Waiting For Her Family To Return
Weeks passed with no one returning for her.
She remained alone, perhaps still hopeful that her previous owners would come back.
Little Doggo Girl Was Inclined To Wait For Her Hoomans To Come Back
Even after fifteen days with no sign of her family, this little dog refused to leave the safety of the parking lot shrubs.
She seemed determined to wait there as long as it took for her family to return.
Many people tried to reach out to help her, posting her photos online in hopes that her family would see them, but no one came forward to claim her.
Whenever someone tried to approach her, she would hide, until one day, Suzette Hall came along.
Suzette Made Sure The Dog Got A Fresh Start
Suzette, the founder of Logan's Legacy animal rescue in Irvine, California, knew she had to help when she learned about the dog.
She drove to the school and began searching for her.
Suzette shared: "For 15 days, there she was in the morning, afternoon, and then the night. Neighbors tried to help her, but she was too scared.
"I know she believed if she stayed there, they would come back for her. Loyal little girl."
Because the dog was extremely fearful and shy, Suzette set a humane trap with a hot dog inside.
Though the pup wasn’t starving—having been fed kibble by neighbors—Suzette’s choice of a hot dog was just tempting enough.
Once safely captured, the dog was initially frightened and panicky, but she eventually calmed down and fell asleep in Suzette's car.
Suzette named her Scarlet.
She then took Scarlet to Camino Pet Hospital in Irvine, California, for a checkup.
Scarlet received all the care she needed and was soon cleared for a new foster home.
Shortly after being rescued by Suzette, Scarlet was placed in a loving foster home with plenty of new siblings to play with.
Little Scarlet Is Seeking A Furever Home
Although she's now content in her foster home, Scarlet is still looking for her forever family.
This adorable dog is easygoing and affectionate, getting along well with everyone she meets.
Adjusting to a new family will likely be seamless for Scarlet, as she’s naturally sweet and sociable.
Suzette has set one condition for Scarlet’s future family—they must be committed to never leaving her.
The thought of Scarlet being abandoned again is unbearable, and Suzette is determined to see her learn what true love really feels like.
We’re all hoping that little Scarlet finds her perfect forever home very soon!
