Every time I see a new dog struggling, my heart breaks a little more. In those moments, I am reminded again that dog cruelty is a never-ending issue, and it is our duty to stay constantly aware of it.
Dog Abandoned In Water Well After Devastating Accident Waits Motionless For Hours Until Help Arrives
However, Moises' story truly brought me to my knees.
This poor boy spent hours on the side of the road after some kind-hearted people rescued him from a water well.
How he ended up there is a heartbreaking story – one that would make even the toughest heart weep!
He Was On The Edge
When a local rescuer named Serafina received a photo of Moises from the people who helped him, she was immediately frozen in shock.
As it turned out, this poor black dog had been run over by a truck, and instead of receiving help, someone heartlessly threw him into a water well.
Despite suffering multiple injuries, Moises miraculously survived.
He spent hours in the well, waiting for someone kind to notice him. Thankfully, a few people did, and they quickly reached out to Serafina for help.
"The neighbors took him out of the well where he had been since 6 a.m. They sent me his photo, telling his sad story," Serafina shared on Facebook.
When Serafina arrived at the scene, she was stunned once again.
Moises' condition was far worse than she had anticipated. He couldn’t even lift his head or move at all.
Serafina gently placed him on a stretcher to transport him to her car, and before he knew it, Moises was on his way to the animal hospital.
Sadly, Moises’ situation was as bad as feared. He had multiple fractures, was malnourished, and, to make matters worse, he had bladder issues.
"He is hospitalized because he has surgery tomorrow. He has 3 fractures, as seen in the X-ray. He eats and drinks well, but the problem is that he doesn't urinate and has bowel movements," Serafina wrote on Facebook.
Through all of this, Moises showed nothing but kindness. He never displayed aggression and only had love in his sad, soulful eyes. After a successful surgery, he had to use a urinary catheter for a while and still faced a long road to recovery.
A Year Later, Moises Is A Brand-New Dog
For the next few months, Serafina made sure Moises got regular vet checkups, physiotherapy, and plenty of home exercises – and eventually, they pulled through!
Other than his ongoing bladder issues, Moises was finally back on his feet, looking and feeling like a completely new dog.
He has successfully moved past his physical and emotional trauma, and it shows – especially with the healthy weight he’s gained.
Serafina created a special meal plan for Moises to help him regain his strength, and it’s clear that her efforts paid off.
Today, Moises is feeling better than ever.
He wags his tail happily and enjoys walks with Serafina, ready to embrace each new day with excitement and joy.
The only thing he’s still waiting for is a forever home, and Serafina hopes that will come soon.
Moises is the perfect companion—loving, loyal, and always there to offer a shoulder to cry on.
Serafina knows that when the right family comes along, they’ll give him everything he deserves and more.
After everything he's been through, this sweet boy is more than ready for the love and happiness that’s waiting for him.
