What makes it even more heartbreaking is that some people abandon their pets in the worst way possible, leaving them with almost no chance of survival.

For this dog, things took a terrible turn. His favorite person had passed away, and when the homeowner decided to sell the house, they cruelly left him behind.

Had the new owner not come along and seen him lying there, who knows how much longer he would have been left to suffer alone.

He Was So Malnourished

When the man who bought the house walked inside and saw the poor dog lying on the floor, helpless and barely able to move, he knew something had to be done. He quickly called a local rescue organization for help.

When the rescuers arrived, they were stunned at what they found. This poor dog, named Benny, had been left behind to fend for himself with no food or water.

Benny was so malnourished that he had resorted to drinking water from a flood. It’s heartbreaking to think about how much pain and suffering he must have gone through.

Benny was too weak to move on his own, so the rescuers carefully placed him in a kennel to transport him to the vet clinic.

Despite the rescuers' best efforts to cheer him up, Benny couldn’t respond. He was in too much pain and simply kept crying out from the agony he was enduring.

Once he arrived at the clinic, Benny was thoroughly examined. The vets quickly determined that he was too weak to handle regular food.

They put him on fluids to give him some much-needed strength, but even after a few days, his condition was still not improving as hoped.

Benny had been alone for far too long, and the toll it had taken on his body was obvious. He was fragile and weak, but his vets were determined not to give up on him.

They continued with his treatment, doing everything they could to help him recover, no matter how difficult the journey seemed.

Very Tragic News For Benny

After several more days of care, Benny began to show signs of improvement. His health was slowly getting better, and he even started to seem happier.

For the first time, Benny was able to sit up on his own, and the vets were able to start feeding him raw food. His rescuers celebrated these small victories with him.

To show how much they cared, the clinic staff brought Benny some toys to lift his spirits, and he absolutely loved them.

However, just when things seemed to be looking up, Benny’s blood test results came back, and the news was devastating. He had rabies.

Benny's condition quickly worsened, and the vets were heartbroken by this unexpected turn. Despite all their efforts, his health continued to decline, and there was nothing more they could do to save him.

Only a few days later, Benny crossed the rainbow bridge, leaving everyone who had cared for him completely devastated. 

Though his time with them was short, Benny’s rescuers made sure that his final days were spent surrounded by people who truly loved him. They gave him the comfort and care he had been denied for so long.

If this tragic story teaches us anything, it’s that situations like this should never happen. Benny could have been saved if his owner had just taken him to a shelter or reached out for help.
