From the belief that Pit Bulls are unadoptable to the idea that older dogs aren’t worth adopting, these stereotypes lead to heartbreaking situations for countless animals.

One senior dog from Los Angeles, California, experienced this firsthand, as every potential adopter turned away, labeling him as "damaged goods."

His unfortunate situation deeply moved many people, touching hearts and bringing tears to their eyes.

His Sad Fate

Philozoia, an animal welfare organization in Los Angeles, shared the story of Eeyore, a senior dog saved from a euthanasia shelter just in time.

Philozoia had nothing but praise for him, writing, "He is crate and house trained, kid-friendly, and would make a great family dog. Eeyore loves attention and naps, and he also has a playful side. He loves toys and takes his stuffed animal with him everywhere,"

Initially, they hoped Eeyore would quickly find his forever home, but sadly, that didn’t happen. For a long time, he couldn’t even secure a foster home, let alone a permanent one.

However, one day, a young woman named Harshey came across Eeyore’s story, and it touched her so deeply that she felt compelled to step in and foster him. With Harshey, Eeyore’s story would soon reach many hearts.

After some time with him, Harshey decided to share a video of Eeyore’s story on her TikTok profile, hoping it might make a difference for him and others like him.

As she explained in the video’s caption, "A senior dog with severe scarring and asthma is seen as damaged goods for most adopters. But Eeyore has been nothing but brave and kind since I picked him up tonight,"

The video showed Eeyore’s physical condition, revealing the severe scars behind his ears and along his back. Harshey shared that she might never have realized these scars were from abuse if Eeyore hadn’t flinched when she tried to pet him.

In that moment, it became clear that Eeyore wasn’t just a victim of age-related bias but had also suffered from far worse treatment in his past.

At the end of the video, Harshey admitted, "I can't help but fear that no one will ever come for him,"
