The staff at Rescue One, an animal shelter in Springfield, Missouri, saw his post and committed to taking the pup in.

The driver stayed by the canine’s side until the shelter staff arrived to pick him up.

Once at the rescue, Artie was soon moved into a foster home where his foster mom was immediately taken aback by his poor condition.

Artie was so weary that he fell asleep in a chair as soon as he arrived at her place.

Teri, his foster mom, was amazed by his resilient spirit.
