Adorable Foal 'Demands' Cuddles In The Funniest Way
Baby horses are truly some of the cutest animals around.
There's just something irresistibly charming about these little farm animals. They're tiny, curious, and so endearing.
And just to clarify, we're not talking about mini horses here. We're talking about foals—the real deal baby horses.
They are like mini versions of mini horses which means they are ultra-cute.
Technically, a foal isn’t just limited to baby horses.
The term can also describe a baby donkey, mule, zebra, or pony that’s less than a year old, according to All Things Nature.
These little ones have quite a journey, spending around 11 months growing before they finally make their debut into the world.
A foal will typically stop weaning until they are about six months old.
When they reach about a year, they earn a new title: yearlings. This term is used for young horses that are older than one but not yet two.
Once they reach two years, there’s even more change. Male foals are then called colts, and female foals are called fillies.
These terms stick with them until they turn four, at which point they’re officially recognized as horses, according to Horse Racing Sense.
Foals come into the world ready to move, often standing up within their first hour after birth.
They aren’t born with teeth but will grow teeth pretty quickly.
Within the second hour of being born, a foal starts nursing, and by the third hour, it’s ready for its first little bowel movement.
Their coats are often dull in color at birth, but as they grow, that changes, with their coat color typically becoming more vibrant over time.
That color will transform when they start shedding their foal coat at about three months.
But Stacy Rolfe knows all of this by heart.
She’s the owner of R&R Ranch in Wildwood, Missouri, where they help with the birth and care of foals like little Teddy Bear.
"When these ranch owners babied their newest foal, they didn't quite expect him to become so accustomed to the cuddles. Teddy was born premature and needed a lot of care from the ranch handlers, leading him to grow accustomed to human interaction," Caters Clips explains.
If you see Teddy Bear in action, he kind of reminds you of a little puppy.
The video shows Teddy bouncing around Stacy, eagerly seeking attention. He may be a tiny horse, but with his playful energy, he sure acts like a puppy.
Just like a puppy, Teddy Bear loves to be petted and cuddled, and he’s small enough that Stacy can still hold him like a baby.
In the video, we see Stacy cradling Teddy as if he were her own little child. And Teddy doesn’t mind one bit!
Teddy Bear has a strong desire for attention and affection.
Probably because it is a baby, but it’s adorable nonetheless.
Of course, Teddy eventually grew out of his baby stage, and thanks to the guidance of his mom and the other horses, he’s learning what it means to be a real horse.
"Thankfully, Teddy's mum and the other horses on the ranch have shown Teddy how to behave like a horse and taught him more usual behavior."
Teddy Bear’s puppy-foal days might be over but they’ll last forever thanks to the internet.
This adorable moment is bound to melt hearts everywhere, pushing the internal "cute-o-meter." to the max.
Little Teddy Bear really lives up to his name. He’s just so lovable and sweet.
